I didn’t come here to whine about this empty life and empty heart of mine. Not like I don’t do that all the time. So take my hand. Let’s make a stand because if you don’t stand for something, everything will stand on you. So keep your head to the sky and your hand on the trigger. Stay close behind, I’ll always be with you. I’ve been regretting the life that I’ve been neglecting to find every day that I seem fine. But it’s come to this, oh, it starts with a kiss because if I don’t make a move I would be lying to me and you So keep your head to the sky and your hand on the trigger. Stay close behind, I’ll always be with you.

I've been mystified, once again, by this beautiful explosion of yours. And I've been trying to make my way out of my bolted shut bedroom door. You're missing the point, and I am missing the mark. But like you always said: "it's never too late to start." The ever so gut-wrenching irony of it all, of it all, is that I asked, I begged and I pleaded to fall. The ever so gut-wrenching irony of it all, of it all is that I asked and I begged and I pleaded you to just let me fall, just let me fall. You’re missing the point, and I am, I’m missing the mark. But like you always said, you always said, “it’s never too late to start.” I’ve been trying to see, oh, trying to see if this loneliness fits, if this emptiness suits me well, suits me well. But it doesn’t. I just keep dreaming That I’ll wake up somewhere else.

‘Cause we laugh and we laugh until our heads fall off right onto laps until they roll along the walls past the ghosts in the hall. Turning heads, they will roll in their graves until we make some kind of change. But we laugh until we lapse then we laugh all the more. We won’t settle the score, though it’s worth fighting for. We are a generation of self un-motivation. If you’re scared to fight, just open up your heart tonight ‘cause if we die, it’s alright because we can still admit that we tried to explode the status quo, explore all that’s left to know ‘cause when we’re gone, then we’re gone, and I’d prefer if we could say we fought on. ‘Cause we cry and we cry until our eyes are sore and they bulge from our skulls like the bells of French horns. The valves overflow and flood up the streets. Monsoons come to break up the peace just like the saltwater leaking from our eyes that will pour right into our mouths, open wide, until we drown from the byproduct of our cries. If you’re scared to fight, just open up your heart tonight ‘cause if we die, it’s alright because we can still admit that we tried to explode the status quo, explore all that’s left to know ‘cause when we’re gone, then we’re gone, and I’d prefer if we could say we fought on. ‘Cause you laugh and you laugh until your head falls and you laugh and you laugh and you don’t give a fuck. This world has decayed, and it’s all up to me. I’ll break some shit so that you can see. This universe is expendable. You can bring nothing with you, so work on something that can stay when you’re gone, some kind of art that can live on and on. So strive for infinity and reach for forever and never say never unless you’re a liar. So play me some songs I’ve been dying to hear. Love, sing me to sleep, and I’ll lose this fear. If this is it, then I’ll call up “quits” to let them know that I’m done with it. But if you’re scared to fight, just open up your heart tonight ‘cause if we die, that’s alright because we can still admit that we tried to explode the status quo, explore all that’s left to know ‘cause when we’re gone, then we’re gone, and I’d prefer if we could say we fought on.

I think that I miss you. I wish that you’d miss me too, but nothing comes from wishing for the impossible. You’re oh-so implausible. Sometimes, I fight back the urge to tell you that I care. I care, but your stare makes me all kinds of scared. Could you do me the courtesy of letting me know when you’re through with me? I would very much like to move on, that is, if you’re all said and done. Could you do me this solid, love? Kill me quickly. I swear to God that I won’t budge. I’m dying so slow tonight. If you’re done, I promise you that I won’t fight. Maybe if I knew what I did wrong, if I knew why I’m singing this song, this song, I could make things right. You’d come spend the night in my arms. You’d lie, and we’d watch the sky collide. Collide. Could you save me my dignity in a vial labeled: “a heart that’s empty,” and let me know that you’re finished with me. I’d appreciate the honesty Because tonight I’ll be dying so oh, tonight I'll be dying so slowly oh-so slowly, so slow. ‘Cause nighttime takes forever, but it’s the only time that I am ever awake, when I think of all of my mistakes but mostly the ones I don’t make. What will this take? What will this take? What will this take? Would you look what’s at stake? Could you do me the courtesy of letting me know when you’re through with me? I would very much like to move on, that is, if you’re all said and done. Could you do me this solid, love? Kill me quickly. I swear to God that I won’t budge. I’m dying so slow tonight. Please, tell me everything is alright.

Whenever I look at a tree, I get sad because even though the tree is alive, it can’t move. And even when I see its branches sway, I know that they’re only doing so because the wind tells them to. But what if we look at it differently? What if all of nature is really just one entity? What if the tree and the wind are the same thing, and the tree has the freedom to move whenever it wants because it is also the wind, and the tree can go wherever it pleases because it is every single tree at the same time? I really think that we should look at it that way because that would be beautiful. And what if we are like the tree and like the wind? If we are everyone and ourselves at once, then we can come together and say something so important because we will all understand everything. And what if that’s all it takes? And nothing can ever be meaningless? Because if nothing matters, then everything matters and if nothing matters everything matters if nothing matters then everything matters and if nothing matters then everything will matter and if nothing matters then you matter and if nothing matters then I matter and if nothing matters then everything matters and everything matters if nothing matters everything matters...

about

So this summer I decided that I wanted to record an album. I didn't really have the means to do so, as I'm alone, at home, and don't have much equipment or experience with recording/mastering things myself. Nonetheless, I figured I would try anyway.

Two of the songs on this EP were written last year (tracks 3 and 4), but the rest were written within a week or so of recording them. I had a great time making this record, and I really hope you enjoy it.

I just want to thank all of my friends and family who are so supportive of me. You're awesome.

Enjoy the music and tell your friends!
