This is definitely my favorite track on the EP. The song came from an imaginary conversation I was having with God one day. Which was basically me talking and him not listening. I was feeling particularly down and confused as to why, if there is a God, he would chose to ignore me and everyone else. My conclusion was that the world must be coming to an end and he just doesn't want to feel guilty about it. So I wrote a song to that effect. There's much more to it, though. Listen and find your own meaning.
lyrics
Listening to the rhythms of the street
I am sitting on this balcony talking to me
I feel the heartbeat; I hear the concrete scream,
"Let me free"
As the wind picks up, tempo is rising
Cars moving faster with this perfect, perfect timing
Why can't you provide us with the combination
To the lock on the box in the back of our mind where we find what we hide?
Can you hear me, I am screaming at the top of my lungs?
The top of my lungs
Frightening are the things that I see these people do
When they think no one's watching
Someone is always watching
As their pulse picks up, tempo is rising
Hearts beating faster with this perfect silver lining
Why can't you provide us with the combination
To the lock on the box in the back of our mind where we find what we hide?
Can you hear me, I am screaming at the top of my lungs?
The top of my lungs
You'd better stock up this world is coming to an end
You'd better stock up before it's too late to make amends
You'd better stock up this world is going to end
You'd better stock up, he's gonna take his sweet revenge
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Why can't you provide us with the combination
To the lock on the box in the back of our minds where we hide what we find?
Can you hear me, I am screaming at the top of my lungs?
At the top of my lungs
